Facebook Campaign - "Dixie State University Ambassadors"
Mission Statement
"Our ambassadors are a great tool for you to use in your college search. They each have real experiences inside and outside of the classroom to give you an idea of what your life as a DSU student can be. They are here to help answer any questions you might have regarding college. Ambassadors also participate in a variety of recruitment events including high school visits, student host weekends, as well as giving the campus tours."
I am mainly trying to target high school seniors, seeing as they are the majority of students that we work with on campus. Though we will also target transfer students, as well as "return to learn" students. People of all ages are welcome to a tour. On this page you will find various tools to help you get in contact with us. What I would love to have happen is people use this site to "sign up" for a campus tour.
I chose to create a Facebook page for the Ambassador program because good heck, we needed one! I'm very passionate about Dixie. The longer I've been here, the more I grow to love it. I think that's why I enjoy being apart of the ambassador program so much. I know the positive impact Dixie has had on my life and I have enjoyed showing others the great opportunities Dixie State has to offer them as well.
As an ambassador here at Dixie, I've learned the impact social media can have if you use it to your advantage. For our program, each ambassador has a Twitter and Instagram account. Each ambassador is required to post twice a week on Instagram and once daily via Twitter. We are also required to follow every person back! When we recruit at different high schools all throughout the Western United States, we let the students know about our ambassador accounts. A great feature both twitter and Instagram have is direct messaging. This is an awesome way we can help answer prospective students questions about college and the University itself. We try to follow as many seniors in high school as we can and post about how neat #thedixielife is, and could potentially be for them! This page is another great social media outlet for perspective students to use.
Marketing Personas:
- Senior's in high school along with their parents
- Transfer students
- "Return to learn" students
While on a tour, students will learn more about the University, scholarships we offer, as well as #thedixielife! Personally, I thoroughly enjoy giving campus tours because not only do I love meeting new people and showing them opportunities that are available to them here at Dixie, but I also love how personalized each tour can become. Most of the time when we are giving a tour, it is a personal tour. Meaning, one ambassador (tour guide), and then the perspective student with their family. This makes it fun because you can really get to know the person and go into detail about how they would thrive at Dixie. Though, we aren't limited to only personal tours, we also do big group tours that are a great time too! Really, the options are endless here at DSU.
Get to know your DSU Ambassadors: I created an album titled "Meet The Ambassadors!" These photos, along with responses enable the reader to get to know each ambassador better. Here is Ben Dahlberg! He is the president of Ambassadors and has done a phenomenal job this year! When a person clicks on an individual picture of an ambassador in the "Meet The Ambassadors" album, they will see their name, major, favorite restaurant, hobbies, and why they chose DSU. This way the perspective student can get to know who we are and hopefully feel more inclined to visit campus.
These responses and photos of the ambassadors are also located on the official Dixie website. Though some of the pictures and information on the official website are not up to date, they are currently in the process of updating the website with the new ambassadors. But hey, at least our Facebook page is current!

DSUTube: We have a YouTube channel called DSUTube. I was able to link our channel to the Facebook page through downloading the YouTube app in Facebook. We post new videos monthly. There's a variety of videos on the channel, but they all relate to Dixie State. From fun adventures that we have here in St. George, to individual "Ambassador intro" videos about ourselves. It's a fun way to learn more about the Ambassador program. If you're interested, please like and subscribe to our Ambassador DSUTube!

Campaign Tactics
Tours: Campus tours are a BIG part of what we do here as ambassadors! I want to promote campus tours on this page. I want students to have multiple ways to sign up for a tour. As you can see below, I posted an embedded link to sign up for a campus tour with one of our ambassadors. Here is the link they will be sent to when clicking on the post or the "sign up" button on the top of the home screen, or clicking on the "pinned" post.
